We try to encourage local food initiatives in the city for example by supporting farmers markets and working with other partners to raise awareness of events such as British Food Fortnight. This year we helped to run a 'design a healthy meal' competition using local ingredients, at Cowley Church School.

A farmers market is held in Gloucester Green once a month, for a trial period it will be held on the first and third Thursday of the month until Christmas.
